Trim Audio
Cut a section from an audio file by setting start and end times, with a built-in preview player. Keep the original format or export MP3. In-browser, no upload.
How it works
- 01Load an audio file. A preview player appears for finding your cut points.
- 02Set start and end times by typing mm:ss or using 'Use current position'.
- 03Choose to keep the original format or export as MP3.
- 04Click Trim, then download your clipped audio.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the part to keep?
Play the built-in preview to find your points, then type start and end times as mm:ss (or hh:mm:ss), or click 'Use current position' to capture exactly where the player is.
Can I keep the original format?
Yes. Choose 'Same format' to trim without re-encoding. It's fast and lossless. Or export to MP3 if you'd prefer a compressed, widely compatible file.
Does trimming re-encode and lose quality?
Keeping the same format copies the audio as-is, so there's no quality loss. Exporting to MP3 re-encodes the trimmed section, which is lossy but lets you set a bitrate.
Are my audio files uploaded to a server?
No. Trimming happens entirely in your browser with a local FFmpeg engine. Your audio stays on your device and is never uploaded.
Is there a size limit or speed issue?
Trimming is fast, especially when keeping the same format. Files are processed in browser memory, so very large audio is best handled on a desktop browser with ample RAM.
