Frequently asked questions

How do I crop an image here?

Upload an image, then drag the crop box to move it or drag a corner handle to resize it. The box shows exactly what will be kept. When it looks right, click crop to export just that region.

Can I crop to an exact shape like a square?

Yes. Pick one of the aspect ratio presets, such as 1:1 for a square or 16:9 for a widescreen banner, and the crop box keeps that shape as you resize it. Choose Free to crop to any shape you like.

What output formats can I choose?

The cropped image can be saved as PNG, JPG or WebP. The selector defaults to your original file's format, and a quality slider appears for JPG and WebP so you can balance size against detail.

Will cropping reduce the image quality?

Cropping keeps the original pixels inside the box at full resolution, so there is no quality loss from the crop itself. Choosing JPG or WebP applies its usual compression, which you control with the quality slider.

Is my image uploaded to crop it?

No. The image is decoded and cropped entirely in your browser with the Canvas API, so your file never leaves your device and the tool works offline.
